When you picture a May wedding in Oregon, there’s always a little nervousness about the rain. But Kristyn and Ryan’s Abbey Road Farm wedding turned out to be one of those rare, sun-soaked spring days that felt like a true blessing. The light stayed golden and soft throughout the day, culminating in a breathtaking sunset across the tall grass fields that made their portraits pure magic.
Their story with me started years before this day. I first met Kristyn and Ryan at the Log House Garden wedding show, where they decided to “try me out” with a mini engagement session. From there, we captured not just one but three different engagement sessions together: a classic spring shoot, a snowy winter adventure, and even a 90’s rap-themed session complete with neon pink track suits. By the time their wedding day arrived, documenting their love felt like photographing old friends.
Highlights From the Day
The wedding itself was full of joy, laughter, and thoughtful details that spoke to Kristyn and Ryan’s personalities. Ryan’s neon green getting-ready track suit set the tone for a day that was both fun and heartfelt. Their wedding favors? Temporary tattoos for guests to enjoy, which perfectly matched the couple’s playful energy.

They exchanged gifts and handwritten notes before the ceremony — a private moment that captured so much emotion. The ceremony took place under a beautifully adorned hexagon arch, draped with mauve and taupe florals by florist Megan Deloretto of Stem Designs. Bridesmaids wore mauve dresses, while the groomsmen stood out in navy suits, creating a timeless yet modern color palette.
One of my favorite personal touches was their Polaroid sign-in guest book. Guests snapped instant photos and left them alongside heartfelt messages, a keepsake Kristyn and Ryan will treasure for years to come.
The Golden Hour at Abbey Road Farm Wedding
As the day drew to a close, we stepped into the tall grass fields at Abbey Road Farms. The sunset cast a golden glow over everything, creating the most stunning backdrop for their portraits. These moments, filled with natural laughter and the glow of the evening light, felt like the perfect ending to a day that was truly theirs.
