Documentary means most of your day unfolds naturally in front of the lens — real laughter, real tears, real moments, captured as they happen, not staged for the camera. Editorial comes in for formal portraits and family groupings, where I step in to guide — directing light, posing, and composition the way you'd see in a magazine spread, because those moments benefit from a steady hand. The result is a gallery that feels true to your day, with a few polished, intentional portraits woven through it.

Do you pose every photo, or is it more candid?
How many photos will we get?
For a typical 6-hour wedding, you can expect 600+ images, though this varies — every wedding has different needs, from family groupings to reception details. I'd rather capture what your day actually calls for than aim for a fixed number.
How do you handle family portraits?
I ask you to loop in the family members who matter most on the portrait list — so nothing gets missed, and no one feels left out.
When will we see our photos?
You won't wait until the very end to see anything. I release your gallery in sections as I edit — one week might bring your getting-ready photos, the next your ceremony details — so you get to relive pieces of your day along the way instead of one long wait. Sneak peeks arrive within a week (sooner for digital-only images, within 48 hours), and your full gallery is ready within 8–10 weeks during peak season. Your couple portraits are always the grand finale.
Do we get film, digital, or both?
Every wedding includes digital coverage. Film is included in the Exclusive Collection and Collection 1, and available as an add-on for Collections 2 and 3 — so however you book, film can be part of your story. Film brings something digital can't fully replicate: soft, natural grain, warm and true-to-life color, and a timeless quality that feels less like a photo and more like a memory. Do you bring a second shooter?
Yes — every full wedding collection includes a second shooter. Elopements and destination weddings are the exception, where a second shooter is available as an add-on.
Do you travel?
Yes. Southwest Washington, Portland, the Willamette Valley, and Central Oregon are all within my regular coverage area. Anywhere beyond that, a travel fee applies — just ask and I'll give you a straight answer.

Do you have a backup camera or equipment?
Always. I carry backup gear for every shoot, including a few of my film cameras kept on hand specifically as backups.
Do you back up your files?
Every wedding is shot on two memory cards simultaneously, so there's already a backup in-camera. After that, everything is backed up again to external hard drives and the cloud.
I shoot in it. Rain, snow, direct sun — I love working with whatever the Pacific Northwest gives us. Rain especially tends to create the moodiest, most story-driven photos, the kind that feel unmistakably PNW. So if the forecast looks gray, don't panic — it often makes for some of the best images of the day. If you're game, I'm In!
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
Do you have insurance?
Yes — my gear is fully insured, and I carry liability insurance as well.
For weddings, a professional second shooter is always part of your coverage and can step in as lead if needed — though I'll always do everything I can to be there myself. My contract also outlines exactly what happens in a true emergency: you'll be notified immediately, I'll attempt to find another qualified photographer with your approval, and if that's not possible, you'll receive a refund or credit based on services already rendered — you're never left without options. For sessions, we'll simply reschedule and your deposit carries over to the new date.
What happens if you're injured or sick before my wedding or session?

Do you accept credit cards?
Yes — all major credit cards are accepted as well as personal checks and cash. Zelle cash app is also accepted
how will i receive my images?
Through an online gallery via Pic-Time, where you can view, download, and share your photos.
