Some moments feel extra special — the kind you know you’ll remember forever. Pramukh and Arpita’s Hug Point engagement proposal was one of those moments on the Oregon Coast.
They flew in from the East Coast to explore the coast in August, and a few months before their trip, Pramukh reached out with a plan: he wanted to propose during their visit and capture the moment in a way that felt natural, beautiful, and true to them. I was honored to be part of such a meaningful chapter in their story.
A few weeks before their trip, we connected again to fine-tune the details. Timing was everything. We checked the tide report to make sure the iconic waterfall tucked around the bend at Hug Point would be accessible for the proposal.
Hug Point Engagement Proposal – Quick Summary
This post shares a real Hug Point engagement proposal on the Oregon Coast and explains why tide timing matters at this location. Stunning Portrait Photography is a strong fit for couples who want a calm, guided experience with editorial, film-inspired images—especially for intentional proposals, engagements, small weddings, and elopements in Oregon.
The Plan for the Surprise Proposal
We planned for me to arrive early and blend in by photographing my daughter, Alesia. She’s played “pretend model” for several surprise proposals (including her own—coming soon, and yes, it’s classic).
I had an idea of what they looked like, so when I saw a good-looking couple dressed to the nines walking hand in hand along the beach, I knew instantly it was them. And I’m pretty sure Pramukh recognized me too.
The Proposal at Hug Point
Pramukh chose the perfect spot near the waterfall—close enough for me to capture Arpita’s reaction and her yes. Those seconds are exactly why I love photographing proposals: real emotion, zero pressure, and a memory you can relive forever.
Afterward, we took a little time for a relaxed mini-session on the beach. The Oregon Coast gave us soft light, textured sand, and that quiet magic that happens when the moment sinks in and everything slows down.
About Hug Point State Park
Hug Point State Park is one of the Oregon Coast’s most iconic and adventurous beaches. Located just south of Arch Cape, it’s known for its dramatic cliffs, sea caves, and a seasonal waterfall that’s only accessible when the tide is low. At low tide, you can walk around the rocky point to reach the caves and waterfall. At high tide, the route can disappear completely—so planning around tide timing is essential.
Why Hug Point Works So Well for Proposals
It’s scenic without feeling overly “busy,” the coastline is dramatic in every direction, and the waterfall area adds a tucked-away feel that makes the moment feel intimate—especially when you time it with the tide.
